Chandelier HallIn 1953, the world-famous chandelier was inaugurated. At that time, it was the biggest chandelier in all of Europe. It is made up of 22,000 pieces of Murano, Venice crystals. The impressive chandelier weighs around 7 tonnes and is 7.5 meters high and 8.5 meters wide. Over 3km of wiring connect over 2,000 lights to generate its heavenly light!

Bonaparte HallIn its 90 years of history, the Bonaparte Hall, has received many of world's most renowned artists in intimate concerts.
When we think of the artists who were on stage in the Casino of Knokke over the years, the list is endless with Frank Sinatra, Charles Trenet, Sir Elton John, Salvatore Adamo, Charles Aznavour, Yoko Ono,... And we have not yet mentioned famous visitors yet such as Jean-Claude Van Damme and Paris Hilton. |
Magritte HallArt has always been at the very heart of the Nellens family and the Grand Casino in Knokke. Annual exhibitions took place with artists who remain famous up until today such as Ernst, Dufy, Chagall, Zadkine, Miro, Botero, Delvaux and Haring. Many young artists such as Beuys, Panamarenko, Rauschenberg and Warhol found their first exposure in the Casino of Knokke.
In 1953, there was a contest for the permanent decoration of the rotunda. René Magritte won the competition with his "Enchanting Domain" an immense mural painting 72 metres long which takes your breath away up and until this day. |
Flemish SalonThe Flemish Salon is a large cosy salon, where only the most renowned and privileged guests could take a break from their busy activities in the Grand Casino. It is an architectural masterpiece with its warm decoration in neo-Flemish renaissance style; it looks over the Canada Square and connects directly with the Magritte hall.
